Sound experience of acquisitions, business/plant feasibility studies, factory mergers, factory closures.

Successful experience within both blue chip and smaller fast paced business environments.

Large multi-line manufacturing operations, up to 235,000 tonnes pa, up to 600 FTE personnel, 750 SKU’s.

Multi functional business unit teams encompassing Purchasing function, Supply Chain &  Planning, Health & Safety, Production, Engineering, Technical, HR, & Distribution.

 

 

Financial Control

Turnaround performance improvement in labour costs & efficiencies, material yields, value engineering, rft quality.

Managing overhead budgets up to £16m, labour budgets up to £13m, agency to £2m. Real time monitoring systems.

 

Commercial Liaison & New Product Development

Extensive experience of leading & working with Technical and Commercial teams in delivering NPD projects.

Wide experience of branded and private label manufacture – experience of working with all major retailers.

 

Change Management

Restructuring  and delayering unionised manufacturing operations – introducing new structures and a range of flexible working patterns and annualised hour’s systems geared around business need. 

Successfully introducing a wide range of continuous improvement processes – TPM/RCM, 5’S, SMED, etc.

People and team development initiatives – spanning all management and shopfloor levels and functions.

Introducing new systems and controls – H&S procedures, environmental controls & IPPC license implementation.

 

Plant & Processes

Wide ranging plant and product experience. Plant exposure includes beverage (glass, PET, cans, tetra lines), high speed canning (to 1500 cpm), pouches, foodservice cans & jars, agglomerated powdered drinks, plastics moulding including a high care operation. Extensive packaging experience – across several sectors.

Product categories including fresh vegetables, meats, soups, pulses, chocolate and sugared confectionery, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, mineral water.

 

Capital Projects & NPD

Broad range of experience - successful scoping and delivery of extensive range of capital projects – up to £6m.

Projects include new builds, new lines & processing equipment, equipment modification & improvement.

Working with internal and external customers over many years – delivering new and novel product developments.

 

Quality / Technical

Implementation of new QMS systems. Up to date HACCP’s, GMP, allergens processes. Real time hygiene tracking.

Customer audit management. Supplier performance improvement.

 

Health & Safety

Conversant with latest legislative requirements and implementation of compliance improvement activities.

 

Business Systems

Experience of wide range of business planning and management systems covering forecasting, planning, inventory stock management, engineering inventory, project management, etc. Conversant with SAP systems.

Sound PC skills across range of software programmes including Microsoft Project.
